About Aditi M. Stanton, MD

Dr. Aditi Stanton is originally from the Dayton area. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Akron and then attended the Northeast Ohio Medical University where she also obtained a Master of Public Health. She then completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Cincinnati and went on to complete her gastroenterology fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin. 

She practices gastroenterology and hepatology, with interests in inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer screening, general gastroenterology, and motility disorders. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, baking, playing the piano, and reading.

Colon Cancer Rates on the Rise in Women Under 50

The latest American Cancer Society guidelines now recommend women aged 45 and older get screened for colon cancer. While traditionally screening for colon cancer has started at age 50, recent trends indicate a rising incidence of colon cancer in younger adults. Colon cancer is now the 2nd leading cause of cancer deaths in women under 50, behind breast cancer.
