About Helen C. Copsey, PA-C
Helen Copsey is a nationally credentialed physician assistant (PA-C). Born and raised in Montgomery County Maryland, Helen obtained a master’s of science in health sciences from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2008. She returned to the DMV area later that year, joining what is now GastroHealth- Virginia. In 2010 she accepted a position at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C., later moving to Water Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda MD. While at WRNMMC Helen co-founded the first dedicated Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) clinic in the military healthcare system. In 2017 Helen left WRNMMC to become a stay at home mother to her two young children, which she did for six years until enthusiastically returning to clinical practice. She continues to have a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease as well as irritable bowel syndrome, nutrition and women’s digestive health.
